How it started
We sat down as a family to brainstorm an app that people would actually use. My daughter Sicily told us about something she and her friends do all the time: take a debate, like the best song or the best snack, put the options in a bracket, and battle it out until one winner is left. Everyone already does it on paper and in group chats. That was the idea. We decided to build it.
What’s in it
- 19 ready-made categories, from music and movies to cereal, pizza toppings and dog breeds, or make your own list.
- Brackets of 4, 8, 16 or 32, with matchups shuffled, set by hand, or seeded so your favorites meet late.
- Big head-to-head picks, with undo, and a full bracket you can zoom into.
- A champion screen with confetti, your Top 4, and your own awards like “Most Overrated.”
- Sharing as a picture, a full bracket image, or a replay video of the whole bracket.
- 25 themes, from hand-drawn sketch to neon.
It’s free with ads, and a one-time purchase removes them and unlocks every theme. No account needed; brackets stay on your phone.
Getting through review
The build was the easy part. Getting it into the store took several rounds with Apple: a crash in review, in-app purchases that wouldn’t load, and plenty of waiting. Today it’s live.
